This new black and gray workshop addresses application with pen machines as well as a focus on making the making of the art itself. It will cover a small amount of the basics for application as well as some advanced hex method techniques, but will be more focused on advanced applications that affect the different styles and approaches of black and gray.

This is tailored to more illustrative applications where tones are based more on intentional decision making as opposed to reproducing something accurately to a piece of reference. 

By breaking down the various speed and applications styles we will discuss how to achieve the texture control and tone control you want  as well as giving you a basic understanding of the Hex methodology.  

This is an update from last years 2 day workshop but has a lot of new material as well as being more focused on techniques for pen machine use.  This is trimmed down to one day and you do not need to have attended last year to get everything this has to offer.

• ✅Help you become more carefree and just have more fun with black and grey tattooing while improving your results. 

We will work our way through a simple picture together to demonstrate how and where all these things apply. We will be tattooing on fake skin and skateboards again, I will provide these. 

Bringing your own machine and battery or power unit will be required. 

-Limited spaces are available-Classes are kept very small to ensure quality and hands on time.

NOTE: Discounted rates for attendees from last year that are ready to move up to the level 2 section of the Hex Method application style. 

A minimum of 5 years experience with black and gray is suggested but not required.

Bio:

I am an Sci-Fi vintage art nerd first and foremost. Neurodivergent and obsessed with craftsmanship in all things. I have been an illustrator, a machinist and more recently am an industry tester for materials and machine quality. I could add industry educator for the last few years to round it out but ultimately I’ve always just been about pioneering my own style of tattooing over the last 23 years. A style that is focused on craftsmanship and longevity as much as it is about just the art itself.
